Kampen Foods was started by Chris Kampen in 2007. Chris purchased the store formally known as Frieden Foods from Bill Frieden.

Chris attended Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, IA and graduated from Iowa State University in 2005. While in college, Chris worked at John Deere in Ankeny, IA. There he climbed the corporate ladder by utilizing his enthusiasm, enginuity, and communication skills.

With a promotion on the table from John Deere, Christopher's entrepreneurial spirit told him to be his own boss and he decided to buy a grocery store.

When not in the store, you'll likely find Chris in a tractor or on a much-needed vacation.

Kampen Foods employs 12 people (2 full-time, 10 part-time) from the West Bend area.
